Day 1: Nyingchi Milin Airport Pickup → Gala Peach Blossom Village → Bayi Town → Sejila Mountain Pass → Lulang Forest Viewing Platform → Lulang Town

Nyingchi has long been known as the “Jiangnan of Tibet” for its lush and picturesque scenery. Upon arrival at Nyingchi Milin Airport, our enthusiastic guide will be waiting to greet you. As group members may arrive on different flights, please be patient while waiting for everyone to arrive. In Bayi Town, registration and travel document processing will be completed for foreign and Taiwan travelers. In the afternoon, the group will proceed to Lulang.

Gala Peach Blossom Village
Located by the Nyang River at the foot of majestic mountains, Gala Village is surrounded by miles of wild peach blossom forests. It is not only an administrative village but also known as the “First Peach Blossom Village.” With over 1,200 wild peach trees spread across 270+ acres, Gala becomes a paradise of pink clouds in spring, as blossoms bloom across the hills and fields.

Sejila Mountain Pass

Situated east of Nyingchi County, part of the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountain Range, the pass sits at an altitude of 4,728 meters. From the summit, you can enjoy panoramic views of the sea of clouds and forests. On clear days, you can even glimpse Mount Namjagbarwa (7,782 m), voted “China’s Most Beautiful Mountain” by Chinese National Geography in 2005.

Lulang Forest Viewing Platform
A scenic forest area shrouded in mist and clouds, famously described as a place “that makes people forget home.” The landscape is poetic and picturesque, with surrounding snow-capped peaks, lush valleys, and grassy meadows that look perfectly manicured.

Travel Tip
It is recommended to transfer via Chengdu and choose flights arriving in Nyingchi before 10:00 AM.

Day 2: Lulang → Guxiang Lake → Bomi Peach Blossom Valley → Ranwu Lake

【Guxiang Lake】
Located about 33 km from Bomi County, Guxiang Lake sits at an altitude of 2,600 meters. It stretches 5 kilometers in length, is up to 2 kilometers wide at its broadest point, and reaches a depth of over 20 meters. It is a freshwater barrier lake.

【Bomi Peach Blossom Valley】
This stunning valley stretches over 30 kilometers and is considered the most beautiful and expansive peach blossom area in the entire Nyingchi region, with vibrant blooms spread across the landscape.

【Ranwu Lake】
In Tibetan, Ranwu Lake is called “Ranwu Tso” (with “tso” meaning lake). The lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, and its main water source comes from the melting snow and ice of these peaks. It is also the headwater of the famous Palong Tsangpo River. The lakeshore is lined with green grass and crops, while the mountainsides are covered with dense forests, creating a breathtakingly beautiful scene.

Meals: Breakfast included, lunch & dinner on your own

Accommodation: Ranwu

Day 3: Ranwu → Laigu Glacier → Bomi

Laigu Glacier
Laigu Glacier is a collective name for a group of glaciers located in Ranwu Town, Baxoi County, Chamdo Prefecture, Tibet. It is adjacent to Ranwu Lake, with the glacier meltwater flowing directly into the lake. The surrounding area features dense virgin forests and many traditional Tibetan villages, including Mexi, Yalong, Ruo Jiao, Dongga, Xiongjia, and the Niuma Glacier. The region remains relatively untouched, and different glaciers may be accessible depending on the season.

Scenic Area Notice:
From April to October, Dongga Glacier is most commonly open to visitors. The most famous feature of the Dongga route is the Blue Ice Cave. Visitors take a scenic shuttle bus to the summer pasture (a round-trip of about 40 km). Upon arrival, you may choose to either hike (free of charge, round-trip about 4 km, elevation 4100–4400 meters) or ride a horse (optional, approx. ¥300/person, to be paid at the horse rental site; actual prices are subject to posted rates). The entire visit takes about 3.5–4 hours.

Meals: Breakfast included, lunch & dinner on your own

Accommodation: Bomi

Day 4: Bomi → Lulang → Zhaxigang Village → Sejila Pass → Nyingchi

Zhaxigang Village
Zhaxigang Village is located in a highland meadow at the foot of the mountains. The surrounding slopes are covered in expansive forest, transitioning from shrubs at lower elevations to dense spruce and pine forests higher up. Between the green hills lie well-kept meadows with flowing streams, blooming flowers, and wooden fences and cabins dotted throughout. The scenery blends harmoniously with distant snowy peaks and nearby forest, creating a peaceful and picturesque “mountain dwelling” landscape.

In spring and summer, a variety of flowers bloom across the green expanse of the meadows and forest. In autumn and winter, thick mist rolls in, veiling the mountain peaks in layers of cloud and creating an ethereal view where snow-covered summits appear and disappear in the mist.

Meals: Breakfast included, lunch & dinner on your own

Accommodation: Nyingchi

Day 5: Nyingchi → Basum Tso (Central Island, Tsozong Gongba Monastery, Jieba Village) → Lhasa

Basum Tso (Basongcuo Lake)
Basum Tso Scenic Area is a harmonious blend of snow-capped mountains, lakes, forests, waterfalls, pastures, and ancient temples. The scenery changes with the seasons, making it a unique and picturesque national forest park and a 5A-rated tourist attraction.

Central Island
This island in the middle of the lake is home to a monastery. Walking clockwise around the island reveals many sacred and mystical sights: a pine tree entwined with a peach tree, an ancient water burial site, a “letter tree” whose leaves naturally form Tibetan letters, a sacred spring where Guru Rinpoche is said to have washed his face, and breathtaking views where distant mountains meet the tranquil waters.

On the island sits the ancient Tsozong Gongba Monastery, which offers a unique insight into a lesser-known side of Tibetan Buddhism—fertility worship. Symbols representing male and female fertility are placed on either side of the monastery steps (male on the left, female on the right), symbolizing reverence for life.

Jieba Village
Jieba Village is the best spot to view Basum Tso and the two surrounding snowy peaks known as “King’s Throne” and “Flaming Fire.” This village remains untouched by commercialization. What you see is pure nature: a crystal-clear river winding through the mountains, grazing horses, cattle, and sheep peacefully roaming the grasslands.

Day 6: Lhasa City Tour – Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Street

Potala Palace (Tour limited to 1 hour)
Built by Songtsen Gampo, who dedicated half his life to unifying Tibet and the other half to building this glorious palace. As you wander through the golden halls, spiritual towers, and quiet corridors, the aroma of butter lamps fills the air—like stepping into a sacred dream filled with scriptures, statues, murals, and legends.

Potala Palace Ticketing Notice:

  1. Tickets are booked using real-name reservations with a valid ID (ID card, household register, or passport). Once reserved, repeat bookings are not allowed for 7 days. Incorrect info may result in denied entry, and the travel agency holds no responsibility in such cases. Bring your original ID to enter.
  2. Entry times are randomly assigned by the palace’s ticketing system. Please understand that your visit time cannot be chosen and tour order may change accordingly.
  3. In peak seasons, access is limited. Agencies secure tickets through various channels, which may require:
    • Splitting groups into smaller teams, possibly combined with strangers.
    • Different groups visit at different times or days.
    • Groups led by different guides into the palace.

Jokhang Temple (Tour approx. 1 hour)
Blending Tibetan, Tang, Nepalese, and Indian styles, this temple is a masterpiece of Tibetan religious architecture. Pilgrims prostrate before its gates day and night, leaving body-length marks on the stone. Thousands of butter lamps illuminate the sacred space, a testament to time and faith.

Jokhang Temple Ticketing Notice:

  1. Tickets require real-name reservation via the “Jokhang Temple Appointment” mini-app on WeChat from 7:00 to 23:59 the day before. Please follow our guide’s instructions to book.

Meals: Breakfast included, lunch & dinner on your own

Accommodation: Lhasa

Day 7: Lhasa → Yamdrok Lake → Karola Glacier → Shigatse

Along Provincial Road 101, the Yarlung Tsangpo River near Lhasa is at its widest. As you follow the river valley and transition onto Provincial Road 307, you’ll reach a mid-mountain point offering a panoramic view of the Yarlung Tsangpo River—breathtaking in scale and grandeur.

Gampa La Pass – The Best Vantage Point to View Yamdrok Lake

Here lies the bluest sky and the bluest lake. This is where you’ll understand the saying, “Tears of angels in the sky, the blue of Yamdrok on earth.” Many photographers remark, “No matter how many times I photograph Yamdrok Lake, I can never truly capture its beauty.”

In the pass, many local Tibetans offer photo opportunities with yaks—be sure to agree on a price beforehand to avoid misunderstandings.

Yamdrok Lake (Yamdrok Yumtso)

One of Tibet’s three sacred lakes, Yamdrok is a freshwater lake known for its jade-like clarity and drinkable water. The deep blue waters merge with distant snow-capped mountains, flanked by colorful ranges, unique Tibetan villages, and roaming yaks and sheep.

  • Surface area: 638 km²
  • Elevation: 4,441 meters
  • Shoreline: 250 km
Legend says it is a turquoise earring dropped to Earth by a goddess. From the Gampa La summit at 4,950 meters, the lake resembles a sapphire embedded among the mountains—its serene, glassy surface reflecting the sky’s blue.

【Karola Glacier】 – A Disappearing Glacier (Approx. 20 minutes visit)

One of Tibet’s three continental glaciers, backed by the towering Mt. Nojin Kangtsang—one of Tibet’s four major peaks. The glacier stretches from the misty summit down to just a few hundred meters off the highway.

Due to years of dust from the road, the glacier appears striped in black and white. Yet its upper half, under sunlight, shines like a massive Thangka (Buddhist tapestry) draped across the mountain wall.

This location gained fame as a filming site for movies like Red River Valley, Battle of Gyantse, and The Knot.

Manla Reservoir – “Jewel in the Sky”

As meltwater from Karola Glacier flows down, it leads to Mt. Simila, where travelers can take a break. Suddenly, a crescent-shaped emerald lake appears—Manla Reservoir, also known as Simila Lake.

Fringed by colorful prayer flags and framed by eroded cliffs, the lake feels pristine and surreal. “Simila” in Tibetan means “Heaven’s Jewel.”

Overnight: Shigatse — The Heart of Western Tibet

“Shigatse” means “The Best Estate” in Tibetan. Known as one of Tibet’s grain-producing regions, it has long served as the political, religious, and cultural center of western Tibet. It is also the traditional residence of the Panchen Lama. With over 500 years of history, it is Tibet’s second-largest city.

Travel Tip: Street vendors along the route often sell counterfeit or low-quality products. These are outside our control. Please shop with caution to avoid being deceived.

Meals: Breakfast included, lunch & dinner on your own

Accommodation: Shigatse

Day 8: Shigatse → Tashilhunpo Monastery → Lhasa

Tashilhunpo Monastery (Tour approx. 1 hour)

Also known as the “Auspicious Sumeru Monastery,” Tashilhunpo is the largest monastery in the Shigatse area. It is one of the six great Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) monasteries, along with Drepung, Sera, and Ganden Monasteries in Lhasa, Kumbum Monastery in Qinghai, and Labrang Monastery in Gansu.

Founded in 1447 by Gendun Drub, the First Dalai Lama and disciple of Tsongkhapa, the monastery once housed over 3,000 rooms, 5,000 monks, 50 affiliated temples, and 30 estates and pastures at its peak.

From the Fourth Panchen Lama onward, all Panchen Lamas have made Tashilhunpo their seat. Today, the monastery includes:

  • 4 major dratsangs (monastic colleges)
  • 56 chapels
  • Over 3,600 rooms
  • More than 800 monks
  • A total area of 300,000 square meters

Highlights:

  1. The spiritual pride of Western Tibet, it is the traditional seat of the Panchen Lamas and one of the four greatest monasteries in Tibetan Buddhism, alongside the three great monasteries of Lhasa.
  2. The Jampa Buddha Hall houses an enormous copper statue of the Maitreya Buddha, built with:
    • 115+ tons of copper
    • 260+ kilograms of gold
    • Over 1,400 inlaid jewels, including diamonds and pearls—just for the statue’s eyebrows!
  3. The monastery is home to magnificent Panchen Lamas’ stupas, built using gold, silver, copper, silk, coral, pearls, agate, turquoise, and countless other precious materials.

Important Notice

Important Notes for Registration

Warm Reminder Before Registration:
Tibet is a high-altitude region, and both travelers and their guardians should fully understand the risks associated with traveling to high-altitude areas. Travelers with certain medical conditions, such as significant heart, lung, brain, liver, or kidney diseases, severe anemia, high blood pressure, or severe colds, are not allowed to join the tour. The travel agency has provided necessary reminders, and it is required that travelers do not conceal any medical conditions when registering.

Accommodation Arrangements:
The travel agency will provide standard hotel rooms with private bathrooms for the entire tour. Natural single rooms are not available. In the case of single male and female travelers, the agency has the right to arrange triple rooms or ask travelers to pay the difference for a single room. Extra beds in the room may be wire beds. Due to peak season, it is possible that hotels will change daily; travelers are asked to understand.

Hotel Information:
Due to Tibet’s special conditions, some hotels may not meet the standards of hotels at the same level in mainland China, both in terms of hardware and software. Service awareness of hotel staff may be relatively weak, and their attitude may be more direct. Please be understanding. Some hotels do not have air conditioning, and if additional blankets are needed, guests can contact the front desk. Many hotels in Tibet use solar-powered hot water, so if the weather is cloudy, the water may not be very hot. Please understand! When checking into hotels, travelers are required to pay a room key deposit, which will be refunded upon check-out.

Transportation Arrangements:
As the tour may include a group of independent travelers, it is possible that there will be waiting for others at different hotels. Travelers should be on time. Transportation will be arranged based on the number of people. If a traveler chooses to abandon part of the tour, no refund will be provided for the transportation fee.

Vehicle Information:
Due to the local climate, most vehicles may not have air conditioning or may not use it. Since Tibet has a high altitude, running the air conditioning could slow the vehicle’s movement, and the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the vehicle may cause guests to catch a cold. Additionally, the travel time between attractions is long, and travelers prone to motion sickness should bring their own motion sickness medication. Due to the long travel time at high altitudes, the vehicle may experience mechanical failure, which could delay the journey. The travel agency will take swift measures to resolve such issues.

Potala Palace Information:
During peak season (May–October), the Potala Palace limits the number of visitors. Each travel agency is allocated only 7 visiting slots per day. To ensure all travelers have the opportunity to visit, the travel agency uses several methods to secure tickets:

  1. Group tickets
  2. Individual tickets
  3. Unit tickets
  4. Standby tickets from the management office
  5. Special government-issued tickets

Because of the unique requirements for obtaining tickets, travelers must follow the guide’s arrangements without exception. The following arrangements are normal:

  1. The group will be split into smaller groups.
  2. Smaller groups will visit at different times.
  3. Smaller groups may be accompanied by different guides.
Please understand that due to the large number of individual travelers, the Potala Palace ticket allocation is random, and visitors from the same order may be separated.

Train Tickets:
The travel agency cannot guarantee direct train routes (e.g., Shanghai–Lhasa–Shanghai). If direct tickets cannot be purchased, the agency will arrange a transfer via Xining. The agency cannot guarantee that travelers from the same order will be in the same train carriage or have adjacent bunks. The tickets will be issued randomly, and we ask for your understanding.

Special Instructions:
All sightseeing orders are subject to the Potala Palace ticket availability. The agency reserves the right to adjust the itinerary while ensuring all attractions are visited. If any attraction cannot be visited due to factors beyond human control, the agency will negotiate with the travelers for an alternative. If the travelers refuse the change, the entrance fee will be refunded.

Guide Service:
The tour will be accompanied by an English-speaking guide. During peak season, there may be changes in guides. The guide will contact the travelers by 9 p.m. each day; please keep your phone available.

Pick-up and Drop-off Information:
Pick-up and drop-off services for trains and flights in Tibet are arranged by the local professional transfer center. The staff will contact travelers in advance. The staff at Lhasa Railway Station cannot enter the waiting area and will meet travelers outside at the square with a sign showing the traveler’s name. For Lhasa Gonggar Airport, the staff will wait for travelers in the parking lot with a sign showing the traveler’s name. When departing, the guide will not be able to enter the waiting area and will only assist with transportation to the departure gate. Travelers must handle their own luggage check-in and boarding procedures. Please provide accurate contact information when registering, and reply promptly to any SMS messages received.

Other Notes:

  1. In the event of natural disasters such as landslides, mudslides, snowstorms, or floods, or flight delays or cancellations by the airline, the travel agency will not be responsible for any changes to the itinerary or related costs and compensation.
  2. If changes or cancellations to hotels, attractions, or itineraries occur due to government decisions or local events, the travel agency will attempt to resolve the situation but will not be liable for compensation.
  3. If travelers are unable to complete the tour due to personal reasons or leave the group early, this will be considered as voluntary withdrawal, and no refund will be given.
  4. Train tickets cannot be changed once issued. If a refund is needed, the traveler must go to the train station with their ID to handle it.
  5. Flight tickets cannot be transferred, changed, or refunded once issued. The airline’s schedule takes precedence, and any errors in the traveler’s name or ID number will result in the traveler being unable to board, for which the travel agency will not be held responsible.

Flight Delays:
Considering that flights from Lhasa may be delayed due to weather, there is typically a 2-4 hour layover between connecting flights. Travelers should plan accordingly to avoid missing their flight.
